Chapter 10: Not Quite a Death Ray
"Listen up Dragonite your going to listen to me or else. Would
you like to find out what or else means?"
Dragonite only turned his back to Joey. He wasn't happy about
being caught or being left in a pokeball for two months. He also
wasn't happy about his trainer being a small cat pokemon.
Seeing the right opportunity Joey transformed from her mew
shape into a rhydon and stomped her foot onto Dragonites tail.
This wasn't quite the best idea because Dragonite kicked her
into the nearest tree. The tree smashed in half from the force and
Joey turned back into a mew and rolled over from the trunk of
the smashed tree into the snow. This wasn't working. This was
the third tree that she's been hit into and Dragonite still wasn't
listening.
Slowly she got up and shook the snow off her soft fur. She hurt
all over. But she couldn't give up. Unless she could get
Dragonite to listen she couldn't call herself a pokemon master.
Meanwhile...
"Come on Magick I swear we won't get caught!"
Magick sighed. "Joey's psychic she'll know."
"She's above ground there's no way she'll find out! We'll only
take a quick peek then leave!"
"Jads I have the worst feeling about this! You remember what
she warned us about going into her lab!"
"We won't get caught!"
"Can't you just go by yourself?"
"Nope."
"Well I don't want to end up being NEE-ed to death then being
left to be eaten by wild pokemon."
"I had forgotten about the part where you're NEE-ed to death...
But still come on! We won't get caught!"
"Yes we will."
Then Jads pulled out her secret weapon. The puppy dog eyes.
"Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease go with
me Magick chan," Jads begged. "You want to see what's in the
lab just as much as I do."
Magick couldn't resist. "Alright but only a quick peek and then
we're out of there got it?"
"Right."
Meanwhile...
"Sarah ice beam Dragonite until he listens!"
Sarah the seel nodded and fired her ice beam at dragonite. The
huge dragon only shrugged off the attack and proceeded to
smack Sarah into a tree with his fainting it. Then he smacked
Joey into another tree.
"That's getting quite painful," Joey said as she got up again
returning Sarah to her pokeball. If this kept up there wouldn't be
anymore trees left in the whole forest.
She growled then yelled up to Dragonite who had his back
turned to her. "WHY WON'T YOU LISTEN TO ME?"
Dragonite growled his answer back.
"You're lucky that I caught you. There are pokemon trainers out
there where after they find out that your really a ditto they'd
abuse then abandon you."
Dragonite turned around to her. He didn't have the same mean
expression as he did before. He looked surprised.
"Yeah I knew you were a ditto. First of all dragonites don't grow
that big and second I'm a psychic pokemon. Now turn into your
true form."
Dragonite/Ditto obeyed Joey and turned back into a ditto.
"That's good. Now your not lying to yourself. You're a high
level ditto and you should be proud of that fact. With my help
you can become much stronger than you are now. So are you
with me?"
"Ditto," said Ditto.
Joey smiled. "Shall we start training?"
Meanwhile...
Jads slowly opened the door to Joeys laboratory. The door had
an eerie creak to it as if warning Jads and Magick to go back. Of
course they didn't. After entering the room Jads found a light
switch.
"KOOLBEANS!!!"
"Shush Jads! You're gonna get us caught," Magick looked
around the lab. It WAS koolbeans. "Ok we've gone in can we go
now???"
"No way! There's gotta be some like really kool stuff in here!"
"JADS!!! You said we'd just take a peek in!" Before Magick
could complain more Jads grabbed her wrist and dragged her
further into the lab.
"I just know we're gonna pay for this! Joey told us not to go in
her lab or else and now were in the lab and I know were gonna
die..."
"Shut up."
"Kay."
Jads dropped Magick onto the ground and walked over to a table
where something that looked a lot like a death ray sat. The front
of the laser was aimed at Magick. At the base of the "death ray"
was a button labeled "do not press this button."
Jads' eyes grew wide.
Meanwhile... (Writers note: We all know this won't end well.)
Joey stood at one end of a battle of a butterfree vs. and identical
butterfree. She was back in her human form. She ordered the
butterfree closest to her to use it's confusion attack. The
butterfree obeyed and the other butterfree fainted.
"Great job Ditto." Ditto transformed back into a normal ditto.
Joey kneeled down and petted him on the head. She was about to
wander off before she heard her name being called. She turned
around and saw Jads running toward her pretty fast.
By the time Jads got to the spot where Joey was standing she
was out of breath. She took a few seconds to catch her breath
before saying, "Joey I think I fried Magick!"
"You went into my lab and dragged Magick along with you then
hit her with the thing that looked like a death ray?"
Jads gave her a funny look then remembered that she was
psychic.
"Ditto transform to Kadabra then teleport us to my laboratory!"
Before Jads could ask where Joey had gotten a ditto the had
teleported into the lab.
Magick was sitting on the floor with tear paths. She saw Joey
and then yelled, "JOEY WHY IN THE HELL DO YOU HAVE
A DEATH RAY?!?!?"
Joey crossed her arms. "First off it's not a death ray cause your
apparently not dead and second, you shouldn't be in my lab in
the first place."
"JADS DRAGGED ME INTO IT!!! AND THAT RAY THING
STILL FRIED ME CAUSE I'M ALL BLACK NOW!!"
"I know. Quit with the yelling you weren't burnt. Your supposed
to be that colour."
Magick blinked her now green eyes. "WHAT THE HELL
HAPPENED?!?!"
"The ray just turned you into a mew that's all. And I told you to
quit yelling."
"She's right it did turn you into a mew," Jads said from her
hiding spot behind Joey. And evil glare from Magick sent her
back into hiding.
"What am I gonna do..." Magick had gone back to tear paths. "I
dun wanna be a mew I just wanna be human... JOEY THIS IS
ALL YOUR FAULT!!!"
"How is this my fault?"
Magick scowled. "You made an evil death ray dat turned me
into a mew!"
"I told you it's not a death ray."
"Then what is it?"
"I don't know. I kinda just made it."
"Then how did you know it wasn't a death ray?"
"It doesn't look like a death ray."
"How would you know?"
"Because I've made a death ray before." Joey pointed to
something that really looked like a death ray and Jads' eyes lit
up again. Joey hit her on the head before she tried anything.
"Why did you build a death ray?"
"I felt like it."
"Your nuts you know?"
"Yup. Now you want to be human again right?"
"Right"
"Well your going to have ta train til your level 30 and learn
transform."
"When I do learn it will I be stuck with mew ears and a tail like
you?"
"No. I only have mew ears and a tail cause I suck at
transforming."
"I see. Will you help me with training?"
"Of course." Joey looked over to the not quite death ray. It was
smoking. "So much for that."
"Sorry Joey..." apologized Jads.
"It's all right. Now both of you out of my lab pronto and if I ever
catch either one of you in here again You won't be as lucky."
Both Jads and Magick left the lab quickly and swore never to go
back in there again. Joey smiled as the door closed and then
after a few seconds started laughing her head off.
