Team Rocket47's Next Fanfic
Chapter 2: Preparation

"Will you at least tell me why we're collecting sticks?" Magick asked patiently, while holding a
small bundle of strait twigs in her arms.

Joey was sitting on the forest floor with her back against a tree. She was examining a fairly long
stick, looking it over from many different angles. "Arrows," she said suddenly.

Magick could only give her friend a sly look. "Arrows?" she repeated. "Wouldn't you think it
would be more useful to teach them how to shoot guns or something?"

Joey continued to examine the branch. "Guns are dangerous. If you don't know how to aim, then
someone could get hurt. Particularly me."

"But why arrows? Couldn't you use fake guns or something?" the black mew questioned further.

With a sigh, Joey finally looked at her. "When I received my training to become a Team Smak
member, I was taught with a bow and arrow only. My teacher wasn't a real big fan of any
modern weapons. So I'll teach Ira and Jads in almost the same way I learned."

Magick shrugged, and nearly dropped the bunch of sticks. "That makes sense."

Joey concentrated back on deciding whether the branch she held was straight enough or not. "Of
course it does," she replied absentmindedly. Then the houndour morph gently tossed the stick
into Magick's arms, and stood up. "Let's go find some more sticks," she said cheerfully, and
began walking on.

The black mew sighed, then followed.

Down in the underground base, Dreana and the other members were still trying to rid their
headquarters of the dog fur that Joey had shed. They had managed to collect it all in the battle
room on the second floor. It was out of the way, but they still had to figure out a way to get rid of
it. Which was why a meeting had been called.

"I still say we should burn it all," Jads suggested for the fourth time.

Kenny stared at her. "Do you realize how bad burnt fur smells? No one would be able to even go
near the base for months!"

Phido put her paws up on the table. "Disneyland! Disney!"

Everyone stared blankly at the flareon. After a few minutes of silence, Michi asked, "What did
she say?"

"I think," replied Aly, "that she said, 'Yeah! There's no cross ventilation!' But it's only a rough
translation."

Dreana gave a sigh from her fluffy chair at the head of the table. "It's good to know that
someone other then Kat can speak Phido. Anyway, burning is out of the question. Any other
suggestions?"

Pelican was resting his head on his arms, and was looking incredibly bored. "Why not use tape?"

Again, everyone was confused. But instead of a long silence ensuing, Jads immediately asked,
"What are you talking about?"

"Stick all the hair to those pokemon-fur tape roller things, then throw em out," Pelican explained
calmly.

Dreana considered this suggestion, then shook her head. "It wouldn't work. There's just way to
much fur. We would have to rob a bank or two in order to get the money to afford enough of the
fur rollers, and we won't do that unless we really have to."

"I guess you're right," he replied.

"Ok," Kenny sighed. "Will the third time win the beer?"

Aly laughed. "Third time wins the beer?" she giggled. "Where the heck did that one come
from?"

The green haired boy sighed. "It's just an old saying. Nothing important." When he saw that
everyone was laughing, he crossed his arms and asked, "Aren't we having a meeting?"

"Ok, ok, your right," Dreana said as she sat, up, wiping tears from her eyes. "It was pretty funny
though, Kenny." With a final sigh, the pink mew regained her composure. "Now let's get to
finding a solution that's practical."

***

"Ok, so now what?" asked Magick, while setting the now large bundle of sticks down next to the
cabin. The members of Tr47 had built a new one, in a more remote location. The police had
burned down the cabin they had used previously on the night when Joey and Ira were taken
captive. Not far away, they had also dug a new entrance down to the underground base.

Joey had her hands in her pockets, and was staring out into the forest. "I dunno," she replied
indifferently. "I can't think of anything else we could do up here right now, but I don't want to
head back down yet."

The black mew meandered over to where her friend was standing. "Why's that?" she wondered
out loud.

"Dreana will find something to yell at me for, I'm sure of it. So while I'm up here, it'll at least
seem like I'm doing something," said Joey.

"I guess we could just walk around for awhile then," Magick replied with a small smirk, and
began strolling into the trees. "You could show me some of the more interesting spots in the
forest."

Joey followed lazily. "There's really not much to show, but I'll try my best at tour guiding."

The two girls wandered through the forest, talking about random things, and visiting the more
entertaining areas of the woods where Team Rocket47 roamed. Some of the more interesting
things they saw was the tallest tree in the entire forest, and the large rock that looked like a jinx.
Magick thought it looked like a dugtrio though. Since it was such a large forest, they ended up
wandering for quite some time. By the time they returned it was already after dark.

They found Dreana outside the cabin, along with a large pile of black plastic trash bags. She set
a final bag down at the bottom of the heap, then turned to the both of them. Cheerfully she
asked, "How have you two been doing?"

"Pretty good," Magick replied. "Joey gave me a guided tour of the forest, and we did a whole lot
of work preparing."

The pink mew eyed Joey carefully, who was standing behind Magick and looking over her
shoulder. "That's good. We've finally gotten all of the fur out from the base." She nodded
toward the large collection of plastic bags. "Hopefully we won't have to do anymore cleaning of
massive amounts of houndour fur. Will we, Joey?" She said the last with a tone that stated, "We
won't, or else you'll pay."

Joey got the idea. "So I'm not allowed in the base for the rest of the summer?"

Dreana smiled. "Not unless you'd like to stay as a mew," she replied kindly. "It's not my fault
you have a shedding problem, but I don't want to have to clean up after your evil fur every
summer."

She groaned, and leaned her forehead on Magick's shoulder. "Damn it."

"Don't worry, Joey," Magick comforted, while putting her arm over the houndour morph's
shoulders. "You'll be up here giving Ira and Jads some training, right?"

"Yeah, but Ira won't be able to walk properly for another two weeks, I'm guessing." She sat
down on the ground, looking horribly dejected.

Dreana sighed, feeling guilty. "I'm sorry, Joey," she apologized. "It'll only be for awhile though.
Now would you two like to help me carry all this fur to a place very far away?"

Magick couldn't help but snicker. "Sure but wouldn't a bunch of plastic bags and three mews
flying through the air seem suspicious?"

"Yeah, I think it would be silly," Joey grinned. "I'm not sure I could concentrate long enough to
fly all the way as a mew, though."

"I guess you're right. It must suck having to be a houndour," Magick replied with a bit of
sympathy.

Joey transformed into her full dog pokemon state, and laid down on the grass. "It's not all that
bad. Dreana just doesn't let me do anything fun, and I can't fly."

Dreana crossed her small arms. "So now you're blaming this all on me?" she demanded with a
small smile.

Only looking up into the dark sky, Joey didn't reply. After a few moments she said, "Not too
long until the full moon."

Both mews looked up to the sky as well. After spotting the quarter moon, which was just rising
over the top of the trees. Magick continued to look at it, but Dreana sighed. "Oh yes. I'll remind
everyone to stay underground. When is it?"

"Eleven days," replied the houndour, still with her eyes fixed on the moon.

Dreana nodded. "Right. I'll make sure the word gets around after Magick and I get back."

Magick crossed her arms, while still looking at the moon. "Right. I'm a bit confused. No one's
allowed up here on the full moon?"

"No, it get's a bit dangerous," Dreana answered, eyeing Joey thoughtfully. "I'll explain along the
way." The houndour gave Dreana a sharp, concerned look. The pink mew smiled slightly, and
telepathically added, "I'll tell her only what she needs to know."

"So we'd better get going then?" Magick asked, transforming back into her natural mew form
and looking to Dreana expectantly.

Dreana lifted up half the bags using her psychic powers. "You're right. Hopefully no one will
notice two mews and a mountain of trash bags flying through the air if we fly over the clouds.
We should be back before dawn, so be sure to tell the others, Joey."

Joey rolled over onto her back, exposing her tan belly. "I would, but I'm not allowed in the base,
remember?"

The pink mew glared at her, then flew up into the air, with the trash bags following. Magick
laughed, then lifted the remaining bags and followed her.

"Ok, I'm officially bored now," Ira complained.

Jads sighed, laying comfortably on the bed next to him. "Please stop complaining, Ira. It's
getting on my nerves."

Ira crossed his arms and glared at her. "You haven't been stuck in here for the past 8 weeks with
absolutely nothing to do except read."

"Yeah, that's true. But I have been in here keeping you company most of the time, am I wrong?"
the blonde girl asked calmly.

"Ok, ok. You're right, I'm sorry. But it's been driving me crazy." He then shifted his position, so
he was laying on his side facing her. "When did Aly say I could get this cast off? She wouldn't
tell me because she was annoyed with me."

Jads remained staring at the ceiling, but laughed. "A few more days. Then you have to work on
walking again, cause your leg will be all shrunken."

"Shrunken, huh?" Ira laughed as well. "Sounds like fun."

"Then, after you can walk, we're supposed to be dragged off into the middle of the forest for
training," she continued.

He smiled while watching her. "Training... I wonder what we're going to have to do?"

She rolled over and looked at him with a grin. "I dunno. From what Dreana's told me, it's stuff
that will help us avoid being killed. Nothing specific though."

"I'm sure it'll be great," Ira replied.

The next morning, Aly was wandering to the kitchen to find breakfast. On her way there, she
found Joey sitting on the couch. She was back in her human/mew form, and was using a sharp
knife to peel off the bark of the long twigs she and Magick collected last night. She was looking
pretty angry, so Aly cautiously sat down on the opposite end of the sofa.

"What's wrong?" she asked the mew.

Joey didn't look up from her bark peeling. After awhile she replied, "Feathers is a jerk."
Aly remembered that Feathers was Joey's boyfriend, whom she had met online. Although
knowing she was treading into a situation she had know experience in, she questioned further.
"You can always talk to me, you know."

The mew continued with her work for some time. Then she calmly set the stick and the knife
down on the table next to the couch, where the rest of her work was sitting. "He dumped me last
night," she said while shifting until she was comfortable.

"I'm sorry," Aly replied with condolence. "Any reason why?"

"He said I kept too many secrets from him, which was somewhat true," the mew explained. "I
couldn't tell him that I was in Team Rocket47, but I told him everything else. And it's not like
he was an open book with me, either."

Scooting over so she could give Joey a hug, Aly replied. "That's not a very good reason to dump
you."

Joey snuggled into the hug she received, and agreed. "Yeah. I also think he was probably going
out with someone else."

"Well, if he was doing something like that, then I think him breaking up was a good thing. You
deserve better."Aly comforted. "Plus, it's fun to be single. I've always been single, and I'm
pretty happy."

"I guess being single again wouldn't be too bad," Joey said after some thought.

"Yeah!" the pink haired girl exclaimed kindly. "Now whenever you meet a sexy guy, you can
admire him without feeling bad!"

This got a laugh out of the mew. "That's true," she replied with a grin.

Aly's stomach grumbled, and she blushed. "Oops! I was going to get some breakfast," she
explained embarrassedly.

"You should do that. I have to get back to work, or Dreana will get mad at me," Joey sighed,
picking up the knife and stick again. "Thanks for making me feel better."

With a smile, Aly replied, "It's no problem. I'm glad you're not upset anymore." She snuggled
Joey one last time, then got up and headed to the kitchen to scavenge for food.

***

Quietly, Darkstrike crept through the dim room. Jackie was sleeping peacefully against the wall,
unaware of her silent pursuer. None of the other pokemon were around, so the houndoom would
finally have his chance to be alone with the pokemon he admired. With an evil grin, he
continued to slink toward his target.

As if sensing danger, the jolteon twitched her ears in her slumber. This caused Darkstrike to halt
temporarily. Then after waiting a few more moments, he began to inch forward again. Nothing
could stop him once he got close enough.

A small channel of electricity traveled along the surface of Jackie's fur, but Darkstrike ignored
it. He took another advancing step. As soon as his foot hit the carpet, he was hit by a powerful
thunderbolt attack. The bolt was powerful enough to send him flying backwards until he hit the
wall. When the stars finally stopped dancing before his eyes, he looked to see the jolteon
standing against the wall and glaring at him with her dark azure eyes. The electric glow of her
fur was lighting up the room.

"How dare you try and sneak up on my like that?" she asked coldly in pokemon language.

In attempt to recover from his previous defeat, Darkstrike drew himself up proudly and replied,
"Me? Sneaking up on you?"

Jackie intensified her glare, making it colder then ever. "I'm not a fool, Darkstrike. I heard you
creeping across the carpet. Now I demand that you tell me exactly what you were doing."

"It seems that I've been found out," he answered with an evil smirk. "It was nothing that would
concern you anyway." Calm and dignified, he began to turn and leave the room. Before he could
leave though, Jackie cut off his path to the door and charged up another thunderbolt attack.

"You're not leaving," she commanded in an icy tone. "Whatever you were doing, it does concern
me. Now tell me before I'm forced to hurt you."

Darkstrike sat down on the floor. "I was simply looking for my pokeball," he replied, remaining
dignified.

There was a chuckle from across the room, in a dark corner. Both Jackie and Darkstrike looked
toward the source of the sound. "He's lying, Jackie," a handsome voice said in pokemon
language.

"What are you doing in here, Lucky?" Darkstrike demanded in anger, glaring deeply at the
corner.

Jackie smiled slyly, then walked over to the corner, illuminating the darkness and revealing the
Arcanine. He was laying down in a relaxed position, with his head down between his paws. He
was glaring at Darkstrike with his golden brown eyes, and was looking ready to pounce at any
second.

"I was sleeping, until a certain pokemon came stomping across the carpet. I heard you the
second you walked in here," Lucky answered with a doggish grin. "I'd also like to know why you
were stalking toward Jackie, because you know as well as I do that Joey has your pokeball."

The houndoom knew he was in trouble now. A look of uncertainty and fear came into his
shadowy sapphire eyes. Slowly, he began backing towards the door. Lucky stood up, and
lessened the weight on his left hind leg instinctively. "What's wrong?" Jackie asked tauntingly.

"You can't prove anything to Joey, you know," he replied nervously. Then he scowled at the
both of them, and left the room.

Lucky watched him go, and after a few moments asked, "Do you want me to go after him and
find out what he was after?"

The jolteon sighed, then walked over to the spot where she was sleeping previously. "No, thank
you. I already know what that creep was up to."

"Oh, that whole flirting and stalking thing again?" the Arcanine guessed.

"Yup." She laid down, and rolled over onto her back. "I really wish Joey would keep him in the
box."

Lucky took a seat to relax his leg. "I know what you mean. Do you want me to help protect you
from him?"

She glanced at him slyly. "Thanks for the offer, but I don't need it. I can defeat him easily if he
gets too annoying."

"Alright then. I'm going to go find Joey for a belly rub." With a smile to the lounging jolteon,
Lucky left the room.

***

In Pewter city, the sun was just beginning to climb over the rocky peak of Mount Moon. It was
still too early in the morning for anyone to be out yet, but one lone man was wandering the
streets. He wore a silverish grey trench coat that fell down to the top of his boots, and was held
closed at the waist by a matching belt. The bottom flared outward slightly, and there were two
pockets, one on each breast. The front of the coat was folded outward in a V shape with two
triangles on each side, a larger over a smaller one, forming the design of the collar. His boots
were black, with shining iron toes, and two belts each to hold the shoes shut at the ankle. The
buckles were polished so that they shone silver in the dawn. The only bit of clothing that could
be seen aside from the trench coat was the top of his black t-shirt. From under the coat a
mystical looking bird could be vaguely seen on the shirt. Tied across his back was a curved,
three foot long Kitana in a black sheath. His hair was light blonde, and long enough to hang
down to his waist. It fell loosely, though it was slightly wavy. His bangs fell down over his face,
and covered his ears and the corners of his eyes. His build was muscular, but not to an extreme.
The mans eyes were a crystal blue colour, and fit beautifully on his angular face.

As the man continued walking he passed by a building, that had several wanted posters pasted on
the wall. Calmly, he stopped and looked over them. There were five posters in all, each with a
different picture and description on it. After carefully studying the posters, which had Dreana,
Joey, Aly, Kenny, and Ira on them, the man smiled.

"It seems that the police have finally figured out that dealing with Team Rocket47 is a bounty
hunters job," he said to himself. "Well, I've been bored with average Rocket members, so I think
I'll take on the challenge." With a smile, he began to make his way to the east gate of the city.
