Act II, Scene 1
Touya quickly ran away from the party, with thoughts of Keikou
running through his head. "How can I go away when my heart is back there? Turn back,
dull body, and find your love!" he declared, turning to go back, but he stopped and
continued in the direction he was going before.
"Touya, Touya, Touya!" Vash called from the street.
Touya quickly scaled a nearby wall into the Capulet garden.
Kensei smiled drunkly. "And, on my life, he has gone home to
bed!" He wobbled and fell into Vash.
Vash sweat dropped and stood Kensei up straight, keeping his
hands on his shoulders, though he was fairly drunk as well. "No, I think he ran this
way and leapt over this tall wall." Vash disagreed. "Call him,
Kensei-chan!"
"No, I shall conjure him with magic!" Kensei held up an
empty sake jug. "Yo Touya! Lover boy!" He called out at the top of his lungs.
"I conjure you by Hikaru's bright eyes!" Kensei stumbled into Vash again.
Vash sweat dropped again. "And if he hears you, you will
anger him..." he commented.
"This can not anger him!" Kensei declared.
"'Twould anger him to raise a spirit by Hikaru's name. That is not what I'm doing, my
invocation is honest. Only by Hikaru's name do I conjure to raise him." He nodded
like he knew what he was talking about.
"Come, he has hidden himself among these trees to be in
league with the night." Vash announced. "His love is blind, and best fits the
dark."
Kensei smirked. "If love is blind, it cannot hit its
mark!" He fell over laughing. "He will sit under a fruit tree, and wish that
Hikaru were a fruit." He stood up and bowed to Touya, who was long out of his sight.
"Touya, good night! I'll go home to my own bed, for I have
business there, and I don't much like it here!" And with that he turned and started
strutting away.
Vash followed, laughing as well. "Go, then, for 'tis
worthless to look for him where he isn't!" |
