Why Gary?

Everyone needs their reasons for likeing Gary right? Well here's mine.

Reason number 1: I think he's a lot more interesting then Ash. Ash is just Ash. He does the stupidest things at the right moment and everything ends up perfect. Sorry, but that's just boring. Gary's character is more shrouded in mystery. I tend to like that in a character.

Reason number 2: He's the bad guy. The pokemon anime really lacks in the ways of villany and evilness. As much as I love them, Team Rocket are mostly bumbleling idiot's to use Giovanni's words. Giovanni's a pretty good villain, but he doesn't have Gary's spark. Back to Gary and why he's the bad guy. He annoys the crap outta Ash for one thing. Also, Ash can always foil Team Rocket's plans, but when he faces Gary, he get's his butt kicked by Eevee. Defeating the main character of a show is always a good thing.

Reason number 3: He's really cute. Ok so that's an opinion but he is. That spiky brown hair, the deep blue eyes.... How can I not  think he's cute?

Reason number 4: He can ignore Team Rocket. Team rocket does the motto in every episode. And most of the time, Ash, Misty and Tracey/Brock are all like, "It's Team Rocket!" or, "Grrrr, Team Rocket!" Gary just walks on past em. Much more cool.

Reason number 5: He has the best fashion sense. Everyone on the main cast of Pokemon almost always wears the same exact thing with exeption to Team Rocket. But Gary is almost always wearing something different. Plus that purple shirt with the dark blue jeans and kickass boots is such a cool outfit. Can't forget that necklace (I want one!) He tends to look good in anything he wears, including Jigglypuff marker. Before the end of the Orange League came around, I thought that the only thing he was missing was a cape. And then he got a cape. Wonderful. Now enough said about this.

Reason number 6: He's a great pokemon trainer. Don't deny it. Sure his pokemon aren't as close in the way of friendship like Ash and his pokemon are, but Gary trains all his pokemon. With over 200, that's got to be a challenge. Ash leaves most of his pokemon at Professor Oak's lab. Gary's pokemon are at a very high level, they took on the tough pokemon at the Veridian gym. Ash had to battle Team Rocket. Come on. What kind of attack is bubble? I wanted to see Pikachu face Mewtwo (He heh heh.)

Reason number 7: His character is mysterious. He's rarely seen at all, so you know almost nothing about him. He's gone through a lot though. Facing Mewtwo, losing in the Pokemon League, and being drawn on by Jigglypuff at least twice. That's about all we know about him. But unlike most characters, he actually seems to mature throughout the serise. He went from mega-ego to calm aand mature cape wearing dude. Meanwhile, Ash is still annoying. The mystery of his character gives me a lot of opportunity to make him cooler in my fanfics.

Reason number 8: His character is deep. In the R/B/Y game, he's defeated by the player, and his grandfather tells him off for losing, as if he hadn't been ahead of you the entire time. Did he forget who was the first Pokemon League champion or something? Evil old coot.... Well he's a gym leader in G/S/C which is mondo kool.

Reason number 9: He's just kool. I like him. And if you disagree with me, be the loser that you are.
