Chapter 9: A Merry Tr47 Christmas
Aly looked to the calender on the wall of the Tr47 head quarters.
It was the 24th of December already. Christmas would be
tomorrow. Jads, Kenny, Luke, Michelle, Pelican, and Magick
had all gone home to spend the holidays with their families.
Everyone else had stayed at the HQ. Her family was going on
vacation for the holidays so she had no-where else to go.
Joey had been shut up in her lab for the past few days making
something that made a lot of explosions in the making. It'd
probably get her into trouble in the end but so did everything
else she made. Last year she made cherry flavored candy canes
for Christmas. Maybe she'd make em again cause they were
tasty.
Ira had been hanging out with the pokemon around the HQ
lately. He found a liking to a small male nidoran that had been
abused then abandoned by his old trainer. Ira was helping him
heal from his physical wounds along with starting a bond of
friendship.
Tac, as the evil villain he is in this story, had been keeping to
himself lately. He had been above ground training his pokemon
against some of the forests more powerful opponents.
On the other hand, Dreana had gotten a mild cold. She'd been
sitting at the door of Joeys lab bugging Joey to figure out a way
to cure it but Joey kept claiming she was busy. Eventually she
gave up and decided to take the normal icky cold medicine that
Aly had.
Another explosion rang out from Joeys laboratory and then the
sound of a door closing. Not long after Joey popped her head
into the computer room looking slightly burnt.
After putting out a small flame in her hair she asked, "Have you
seen Dreana around?"
"Nope," replied Aly and Joey disappeared to find Dreana.
It wasn't hard to find Dreana due to the fact that she was
sneezing loudly. Joey walked into Dreanas room and Dreana
sneezed again. Dreana was lying in bed looking quite miserable.
"I brought you some really powerful cold medicine like you
asked for," she said upon entering.
Dreana looked up to her and asked, "Is it a bad sign that you
look burnt?"
Pondering this for a moment, Joey finally said, "Nope. I think
that shouldn't be a problem. Take a table spoon of this every
four hours and you should be fine by tomorrow morning." Joey
left a small bottle on a desk next to Dreanas bed and left the
room.
When she walked into the room where the pokemon stayed to
rest from battles in the wild, Jackie growled at Joey and turned
her back. She had been angry at her trainer ever since she had
lost to Michelle. Her other pokemon came to greet her including
Lucky who greeted Joey with a tackle.
After wrestling with Lucky, Joey got up and waved to Ira, who
was playing with his nidoran friend.
"Sup, Ira?" she asked.
Ira looked over to Joey. "Nothing much. Just bored I guess."
"I see," Joey replied. Seeing that Jackie was upset she walked
over to her jolteon.
"I'm sorry that you lost to nidoqueen Jackie," Joey apologized.
Jackie only kept her back turned.
Joey kneeled down on the floor behind her pokemon. "At least
hear me out. It was my fault. I should have known that I was
going to lose because Michelle was going to use a ground type.
But then that would have been cheating and I'm not a cheater in
pokemon battles. Can you forgive me?"
The jolteon only kept her back turned. Joey walked out of the
room feeling depressed.
Tac walked in from his training about two hours later to find
Joey loafing on the couch looking pretty depressed.
"It's Christmas eve. You shouldn't be so depressed you know,"
he said while sitting down on the couch opposite Joey.
"Yeah but Jackie's pissed at me because of a stupid move I did,"
she said while looking at the ceiling.
Confusion, Joeys psyduck, walked into the room and saw that
his trainer was depressed and walked over to her. Knowing what
might cheer Joey up, he started telling bad jokes.
Joey looked at Confusion and smiled. then she picked him up
and let him sit on the couch next to her.
"I always thought that psyducks were all dopey pokemon," Tac
commented.
Joey looked at him. "Only psyducks with really bad trainers end
up dopey."
"It seems his level is pretty high," he mentioned. "Shouldn't he
have evolved into golduck?"
"Pokemon don't have to evolve at the level they're able too. I'm
not going to force Confusion to evolve if he doesn't want to,"
she replied. Looking at the clock she said, "I'd better get going."
Watching as Joey got up, Tac asked, "Where are you off too so
late on Christmas eve?"
"I've got some last minute shopping to get done," she lied. "I'll
see you later." Calling to Lance, her Fearow, she left out the
main entrance.
Above ground it was lightly snowing. Joey walked into the
forest until she reached a small clearing. Lance stretched his
wings out and waited for his trainer to get on.
"Are you sure that you can fly all the way with it snowing like
this? Your type is weak to ice," Joey warned Lance.
Lance cawed a bit and Joey nodded. She got onto Lances back
and he flew off the ground into the snowy night.
A few hours later Joey set foot on the huge floating ice burg. It
was cold but her jacket kept her warm. She returned Lance to his
pokeball because of the temperatures. Seeing a few lit windows
through the icy fog, she walked toward Santas workshop.
"Hi Santa," Joey exclaimed as she walked into the warm house.
"Hello, Joey." Santa said as he saw his assistant. "Back again to
help me deliver presents this year?"
"You know it. Sorry I'm a bit late by the way. I kinda lost track
of time back at the headquarters," replied Joey as she waved to a
few of the Jynx around the workshop.
Santa packed a few presents in a bag and answered, "As long as
you had a safe trip here is what counts."
"I got here safe," Joey said while helping pack presents into
another bag. "Santa can I ask you a favor?'
"Alright Joey. Ask away," he replied.
"Team Rocket47 is on your naughty list because we stole a lot of
pokemon right?"
"I'm afraid that answer is true."
"Well the real reason we stole all the pokemon is for the good of
the pokemon. We've only stolen pokemon from the trainers who
hurt and abuse their pokemon. Or the ones who will only train a
team of six pokemon and leave the rest sitting in pokeballs at the
pokemon storage center."
"Is that so? I can see the good in that but still many pokemon
trainers are sad because of you."
"But if they leave the pokemon in a pokeball all the time and
never let them grow stronger then they shouldn't be allowed to
be pokemon trainers at all. Same goes for the trainers who will
hurt or abuse their pokemon because they're not patient enough
to actually train their pokemon properly and think that the
pokemon is a weakling."
"You do have a point, Joey."
"I have been helping you for a long time and I haven't asked for
a favor once. All I'm asking for this year is my friends to get
presents instead of coal because our intentions are in reality
good from a certain point of view."
Santa looked to his helper and smiled. "All right you've
convinced me. I'll take the members of Team Rocket47 off my
naughty list. But you in return must help me every year it is
possible for you to help me."
Joey saluted in a joking way and said, "Yes sir!"
"Now we'd better deliver these presents before dawn," Santa
Clause said with his jolly laugh.
