Act I Scene 5
In the main hall of the Capulet's house, Puchuu were running
around clearing the table, as all the guests were mingling around waiting for the three
musicians Eriol, Tomoyo, and Sakura to set up.
"Puchuu! Puchu puch puchuu chuu puchuu?!" One yelled
out to the others. (Hey! Where's Kotako when he should be helping clear the table?!)
Another Puchuu stopped momentarily. "Pu puchuu. Puchuu puch
puchuu chu puchuu." (I don't know. He hasn't been helping much tonight.)
"PUCHUU!!!!!" The first one screamed. (DAMNIT!!!!!) The
second Puchuu cowered. "Pu! Puchuu puchuu, pu puchuu, chuu chuu puuuchuu!!!"
(Fast! Take away the chairs, wash the plates, and save me some ice cream!!!) He then
started slamming random Puchuu in the face, making all of them fall over with their faces
bleeding manly. "Puchuu! Puchuu! Pupupu- Puchuu puchuu!" (Hurry! Faster! Go, go,
go- Kotako and Shizuru!) He then stopped his beating as he looked at the two cowering
Puchuu.
"P-puchuu, puchuu pupu puchuu..." (I-I'm here, and
ready to work Orenji...) Kotako stuttered, fearing a beating from Orenji.
Orenji sighed. "Puchuu puchu puchuu puchuu puchuu
chuu." (You are wanted in the kitchen.)
"Puchuu puchuu puu puchuu!!" (We can not be here and
there as well!!) Kotako protested. He then sighed, "Puchuu puu! Puchuu pu pu puu
puchuu!" (But we shall be energetic! The survivor of this battle will take all!) He
then bounced off to the kitchen, and the Puchuu resumed their job.
Meanwhile, Kazuma was greeting the newcomers to the party.
"Welcome, gentlemen!" he said to the masked group. Touya and the others bowed.
"Ladies here will dance with you as much as you please." He turned to the three
musicians. "Come musicians, play!" As he said this, Eriol nodded to the
other two, and they started to play a quick-paced song, and people immediately began to
dance. He then turned to some Puchuu. "More hikari, move the table, and
lower the fire, it's getting a bit hot!"
Everyone hurried around following his orders as he sat down next
to his cousin, Yamazaki Takashi. "Ah, Takashi, how long has it been since I wore a
mask and danced at a party like this?"
Takashi thought momentarily. "Thirty years, I believe."
he answered. "But you know, the ritual of wearing masks to a party was started by a
turtle-" he then got smacked over the head.
"Hai, hai." interrupted his wife, Chiharu. She dragged
him off as he continued his story. "More lies, Takashi. Do you ever learn?"
On the other side of the party, Touya had been looking around,
waiting for his friends to finish so they could leave. He then spotted Keikou dancing
gracefully with one of the noblemen. The nobleman twirled Keikou in a circle and her blue
and red dress spun around her ankles. Her golden-red hair, which fell to her waist, clung
to her sleeves and the sides of her face. She curtsied to the nobleman, and switched
dancing partners.
Touya pulled aside one of the Puchuu. "Who is that lady that
dances with that nobleman?" he asked, nodding toward Keikou.
"Puchuu." The Puchuu replied.
"Who?" Touya asked again.
"Puchuu." The Puchuu replied again.
"I'm sorry, one more time please?" Touya asked again.
"PUCHUU!!!" The Puchuu exclaimed out of annoyance.
Various people stopped and looked at them.
"Umm... Thanks..." Touya said as he scooted away to
watch Keikou from a corner. "She is so beautiful..." he sighed to himself.
"She is like a dove, surrounded by crows. All these other women are crows compared to
her."
The dance ended at that point and Keikou moved to the outskirts
of the dancing circle as a new one began. "If only I could hold her hand." Touya
whispered in his dreamy trance. "Did my heart love till now?" He shook his head,
answering his own question. "I swear I never saw true beauty till this
night."
Plush happened to walk by the spot where Touya was standing as
that point. She stopped and glanced back. "That voice can only belong to a
Montague." She turned to her servant. "Get my sword." The servant bowed and
quickly ran off to find Plush's sword. Plush quickly walked over to her uncle, Kazuma, as
she muttered under her breath. "Why the hell does he dare come here? Does he want to
sneer at our party? I won't allow it! I'll kill him, that damned Montague!" She
stopped in front of Kazuma.
Kazuma looked up at her from his seat. She had interrupted a
conversation he was having with Takashi. "What's wrong with you, Plush? You look
upset."
"Uncle," She pointed to where Touya was standing.
"that is a Montague, our enemy! He has come to mock our party!"
Kazuma glanced over to where Plush was pointed. "Let me
guess, it's even Montague's son, Touya?"
"Yes! He is Touya!" Plush exclaimed.
Kazuma shook his head. "Leave him alone. He is not doing
anything to you. Besides, Verona brags about this boy; they say he is 'virtuous'. I do not
want people to think I am just some cranky old man."
"But you are a cranky old man." Plush replied, crossing
her arms.
"Plush! I will not throw him out, and if you start anything,
I swear I'll disown you!"
Plush became silent as that. She took pride in the fact that she
was a Capulet. "Fine, I'm going home now. If a fight breaks out here, I get bragging
rights." She declared as she turned on her heel and walked out of the house.
While Plush and Kazuma had been busy arguing, Touya had made his
way over to where Keikou was standing. During the dance, Keikou had noticed Touya was
staring at her and had moved out of the dancing circle just to talk to him. Taking her
hand and twirling her so she was facing him, he
smiled.
"Dear lady, if I may take your hand, and with my dull lips
meet yours, which shine with the hikari of no other." He then took a small
step closer to her.
Keikou shook her head. "I do not shine so brightly. It is
simply the fire that makes me seem brighter."
"But how is that so if the fires are low and dim?" he
asked, smiling still.
"Because the fires have affected your eyesight. And you are
mistaking me for someone more beautiful." Keikou also smiled.
"Then let me see how beautiful you truly are with a
kiss." Touya put his other hand on her cheek.
Keikou stepped back. "I doubt you will find anything you
like." She replied.
Touya moved his hand to her chin and tilted her head up, pulling
her closer and kissing her gently. Keikou closed her eyes and kissed him back. Pulling
back gently and opening his eyes, he smiled.
"It seems I was wrong." He commented. "You
are ever more beautiful than I could imagine. No hikari could ever match
you."
Keikou turned slightly red. "But if you smoke hikari,
wouldn't your judgment be impaired? How would you be able to know how I look?"
Touya blinked, "Hikari, man..." He kissed her
again, this time longer and more passionately. "Even through the hikari, I
can tell how beautiful you are." He then kissed her again, putting his arms around
her.
Keikou leaned into his kiss, and kissed him back. "You are a
very good kisser." she said when their lips parted.
Nurse Michi stumbled over, giggling. "Madam!" she said
to Keikou, ignoring the fact that she was, ahem, busy. "Your mother wants a word with
you!" She giggled and drank more sake, her face a bright red.
Keikou sighed and walked over to talk with Lady Nekoko.
"Who is her mother?" Touya asked Nurse Michi as he
stared as Keikou.
"Her mum is the lady of the house, Lady Nekoko
Capulet!" Nurse Michi giggled. "I nursed her daughter who you were talking
to!" She giggled and took another swig of sake, stumbling into Touya. "I tell
ya, he who can get her will have a lotta money!"
Touya stared at her. "She's... a Capulet..."
Vash came over to Touya then. "Come on, lets go, the party's
dying." He said to him.
Touya looked at nurse Michi, who was leaning on him. He pushed
her off, and leaned her against a wall. "Yes, I think you're right."
Up at the front of the room, Kazuma was looking around. "Is
it time to leave already?" Everyone nodded as they were leaving. "Ah well, I
thank you all for coming," he turned to lady Nekoko, who was lightly snoozing in a
chair, and smiled. He walked over to her and picked her up, hugging her
gently. Lady Nekoko purred slightly and snuggled up to him. "Come, lets go to
bed." He whispered to her, carrying her off.
"Michi!" Keikou called as she walked back over to Nurse
Michi. "Who is that gentleman that is leaving?"
"Who, that dude with blue hair?" Keikou nodded. "I
dunno."
Keikou put her hands on her hips. "Well go ask." Nurse
Michi sweat dropped, then ran off to ask Kensei, who was still womanizing.
Kensei turned when he saw sexy Nurse Michi out of the corner of
his eye. "I'm sorry, I know how hot I am, but I'm afraid I have to leave now."
he said to Nurse Michi.
Nurse Michi giggled. "Nah, that's not what I want." She
replied. "I want to know who he is." She pointed to Touya, then fell against
Kensei without realizing it.
Kensei grabbed her, so she wouldn't fall. He smirked and felt her
up. "Him? That's just Touya." He shook his head. "He simply can't
appreciate the company of beautiful women. Stupid Montague."
Nurse Michi blinked. "Montague? Hold that thought." She
bounced up and kissed him on the cheek, then stumbled back to Keikou, who was anxiously
waiting her return. "His name is Touya, and he is a Montague, the only son of your
enemy, Montague!"
"What?!" Keikou screamed. "How can someone I love
be a Montague?!"
Nurse Michi blinked slowly. "Nani?"
Keikou sweat dropped and waved her hand. "Nothing,
nothing." She heard someone calling her name from another room and hurried off to
them.
"Anou... Chotto matte nasai, Keikou-chan!" Nurse Michi
called, started to follow her.
Kensei walked up to her and grabbed her elbow. "Hey, where
are you going?"
Nurse Michi looked back at him, blinking. She then grinned.
"Well, I was gonna go to bed..."
"My bed?" Kensei asked cutely.
Nurse Michi giggled and glomped him. "Well, I dunno..."
She thought for a moment. "I dunno where you live."
Kensei bent down and whispered in her ear. "Go there. I'll
have to get rid of my friends, then I'll come, okay?"
Nurse Michi nodded eagerly, then kissed him. After a few moments,
she let go of his neck and ran off as Kensei went another direction. |
