Act II Scene 5 Keikou paced back and forth in her family’s garden. She was wearing a light red sleeveless dress that went to her knees that was big and airy. The dress had ruby jewels along her collar, sleeves, and the bottom of her dress. She had her hair up in a high ponytail, as it was a hot day. "I sent Michi out at nine!" she screamed to no one in particular. "What time is it now? Noon!" She crossed her arms and sat on a bench. "She said it’d only take her half an hour." She looked up at the sky as she continued her rant. "I want to know what Touya said..." She sighed and put her face in her hands. "Maybe she didn’t find him at all..." Just then, Nurse Michi and Syaoran walked into the garden. Keikou jumped up and ran over to her. "Michi!! Did you talk to him? What did he say?" She pointed to Syaoran. "Send him away." "Syaoran, go fix me a milkshake," Nurse Michi told her servant. He nodded and ran off. She then started to climb the stairs to her room. Keikou followed. "Now, what did he say?" She saw Nurse Michi had a sad expression. "What’s wrong? Is it sad news? Or are you just mocking me with a sad face when it is good news?" "I’m bloody tired," Nurse Michi grumbled. "I have a bloody hangover, and my bones ache..." She sighed. "Not to mention other places." She turned slightly red. "What did you do last night?" Keikou asked suspiciously, but then realized she had been distracted from what she originally wanted to know. "Tell me!!" Nurse Michi got to her room and flopped on her bed. "Can you not wait? Can you not see I’m out of breath?" Keikou put her hands on her hips and pouted as she stood in the doorway. "How can you be out of breath when you have breath to say that you are out of breath? These excuses you are using are taking more breath than to just tell me." She jumped onto the bed next to Nurse Michi and sat on her knees. "Just tell me, is it good or bad? I’ll leave you alone for a while if you just tell me if it’s good or bad!" Nurse Michi sat up and raised her eyebrows. "A while?" she repeated, smiling. "Well, you have made a simple choice. You don’t know how to find a bishi. He is better looking than any other bishi, though he is hardly ever talked about. He is not exactly courteous, but he’s gentle as a lamb." Nurse Michi crossed her arms and nodded. "I knew that already!" Keikou flopped on the bed. "What did he say about us getting married?" "Ugh, how my head aches..." Nurse Michi moaned, though she was hiding a smile. Torturing Keikou was quite fun. "It beats like there’s a rock concert inside of it... I really shouldn’t have drunken so much last night. Then I wouldn’t have--" She then coughed, interrupting herself, lying back against the pillows. "Burn your heart for sending me off across the town and back..." she muttered. "I’m sorry your head hurts." Keikou sat on her knees again and gave Nurse Michi puppy dog eyes. "Sweet, kind, gentle Michi, pretty please tell me what my love says." Nurse Michi sat up and smiled, putting her hand on Keikou’s cheek in a loving manner. "Your love says, like an honest gentleman, and a kind, and a courteous, and a handsome..." She then blinked. "Where is your mother?" "Where is my mother?!" Keikou jumped off the bed and crossed her arms. "She’s in her room! Where else would she be?" She started pouting. "You’re so mean. ‘Your love says like an honest gentleman, where is your mother?’" "Kami-sama, you’re horny." Nurse Michi chuckled. "Is this the reward for my aching body? Actually, I got my reward last night..." She turned slightly red again, then crossed her arms. "Beside the point. From now on, deliver your messages yourself." "Okay!! What did Touya say?!?!" Keikou pounced on Michi. Nurse Michi laughed, then picked Keikou up, despite Keikou being larger than her, and stood up, spinning her in a circle. "Okay, okay," she agreed, placing Keikou on the floor. "Do you have time to go to Friar Aohiki’s temple today?" "Hai!" Keikou nodded. "Then hurry there now." Nurse Michi smiled. "There a husband waits to make you a bride." She looked at Keikou starting to blush and laughed. "And now your face turns bright red at any news of him. But hurry to temple. I must go another way to fetch a ladder so your love can climb up here tonight so you two can have a little honeymoon." She winked. "Now go. I’m going to my milkshake. You hurry to the temple." Keikou glomped Nurse Michi. "Thank you Michi!!" She stepped back and started to run towards the main street, but stopped and looked back at Nurse Michi. "I love you Michi!!!" And with that, she ran out to Jewish friar Aohiki’s temple, leaving Nurse Michi smiling as she left to go get her vanilla milkshake. |
